As a volunteer organization, we utilize the strength of our volunteer force to continue our free and low-cost screening programs in Arizona and other states. Education and awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) will assist to lower SCA deaths in youth.
ABF is the only organization using a copy righted training program. This program has been utilized by teams nationwide and in many countries in the world to provide community based cardiac screening tests to youth and their families. Therefore, our impact is world-wide. Our ABF World Headquarters is located in the North Central corridor of Phoenix!
Company History
ABF was granted a 501(c)(3) status in September 2002. But, Anthony Bates, had succumb to Sudden Cardiac Death as a football player at Kansas State University, July 31, 2000. After his death, Sharon, Anthony's mom, decided to build his legacy by dedicating her life and efforts to protect youth through cardiac screening programs in Kansas and Arizona, Anthony's home state.
The growth and acceptance of cardiac screening in this nation was slow and steady the first decade. Within the past 5 years, more medical research has been published to compact the deadly conditions that plague our youth. A recent study indicates that every 3 days another high school athlete dies in the USA from hidden heart issues. More can be done and will be done by ABF and our supporters to protect and prevent Sudden Cardiac Death in our country.
