Company Profile
Arizona Wilderness Coalition
Company Overview
Arizona Wilderness Coalition is a statewide conservation nonprofit headquartered in Tucson with an office in Prescott and membership across the state. Founded in 1979 as an all-volunteer organization, AWC incorporated in 2004. We were instrumental in the citizen efforts that led to designating 90 wonderful wilderness areas in Arizona through bipartisan legislation.
Today, AWC focuses on stewardship, guiding volunteers in restoring trails and ecosystems on public lands; advocacy, working with agencies to achieve greater protections for wilderness, ecosystems and quiet recreation; and legislative campaigns, working to permanently protect Arizona's fragile and precious wild lands and waters for the benefit of people and wildlife.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
AWC received a 2013 Crescordia Award from Arizona Forward.
