Company History
The organization began in the early 1980s as a teacher outreach program of the Arizona Mining Association. Since then its scope has expanded to include environmental sustainability and comprehensive professional development for teachers and educational leaders around the state. In 2001, the program became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation known as the Arizona Foundation for Resource Education (AFRE). In 2010, AFRE was renamed the Center for Teacher Success to reflect its commitment to promoting the critical role teachers play in helping their students achieve their full academic potential.
