Experience Matters connects passionate individuals with nonprofit organizations and supports the organizations as they prepare to receive the talent. Experience Matters works on both sides of the equation, preparing baby boomers to use their experience and skills to support the nonprofit missions while effectively leveraging this highly skilled and energetic talent force.
Experience Matters is an innovative, leading edge organization and as such operates in a small, highly agile, and flexible work environment with a minimum of traditional paid staff. In addition, the organizations focus is on civic engagement and models this value through the use of extraordinary community talent in volunteer, consulting and stipend roles. Communication and collaboration in virtually every area of the operation, both internal and external, is open and frequent.
Thanks to the investment and support of Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, Maricopa County has become a leader in healthy aging. This laid the groundwork for organizations such as Experience Matters to build their foundation and grow effectively to create a marketplace connecting skilled adults (50+) with social purpose organizations.
